The Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma Brownfield Job Training Program

After four very successful years of providing free job training to over 250 students and working with approximately 92% job attainment rate, the Absentee Shawnee Tribe was not selected for funding this year.  The program exceeded the original program goals by training more than double the expected number of students. The Absentee Shawnee Tribe Brownfields Job Training Program is currently pursuing funding to reestablish this program.  

We hope to find further funding in the future to keep this program.  The job training program has worked with Gordon Cooper Technology Center, East Central University and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.  These partnerships and the high job placement of previous graduates make this a valuable program to the community and the companies employing the graduates.

Future class availablity will be posted here once funding and a schedule have been solidified.

Job training funding for the tribal community has not been renewed.  The Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma has won competitive funding in the past and will continue to pursue funding.
